Blue Yoshi Sculpture - Super Mario World - 2020

I sculpted the original out of polymer clay. I used silicon mold to mold and resin cast the separate pieces. I didn't own a pressure pot so everything is meticulously hand poured and cast. Once cast in resin I actually sculpted on the pieces more to add more details, then molded and cast them again for the final pieces. I then gave them a good scrubbing and cleaning to clear off any residue. Then came the meticulous sanding, line cleaning and filling. Once done, I had to drill a few holes for magnets. After they are cleaned and ready, I went in and primed them and then spent a ridiculous amount of time painting them.

I then decide to hand sculpt a Question Mark Block for Yoshi to place his hands on. This took a lot of time and tedious work. I made one side out of polymer clay. I sanded and perfected it, then molded and cast 6 pieces. I sanded and cut off parts of the cast pieces and slowly assembled them into a cube with a temporarily removable top. I molded and cast the hollow cube and top. I then did the same as other cast pieces- cleaned, puttied and primed them, drilled a hole in the bottom, lined it up with the base, glued it, primed it, masking taped the HECK out of it, painted it and sealed it all. This took so long I will never make these again.
